Cory Ng, DBA, CPA, CITP

Cory began at Deloitte as an auditor and advanced to senior auditor before moving through roles in public accounting and corporate finance. In 2009 he moved into full-time academia, teaching accounting at the Community College of Philadelphia and then Temple University, where he also directed the undergraduate accounting program and served as Deputy Chair of the Department of Accounting.

In 2023, Cory stepped into the CFO seat himself, serving as CFO and Vice President of Administration for a state CPA association, where he led the organization's finance, technology, and HR functions — the exact transition this series is built to teach. He joined Surgent in 2024 as Manager, Accounting & Auditing Content Developer, where he launched three flagship CPE series on AI in Accounting, Information Systems and Controls, and Cybersecurity, earning Surgent's "Rookie of the Year" award.

Cory is currently an Associate Teaching Professor at Villanova School of Business and has also taught at the Wharton School. He is co-author of Artificial Intelligence in Accounting: Practical Applications, and holds a Doctor of Business Administration from Wilmington University, an M.S. in Accounting from Drexel University, and a B.S. in Economics from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Are all five CFO Series courses included with Unlimited Plus?

Yes. All five courses — BLP2, RCR2, FSL2, RSC2, and EPG2 — are premium courses exclusively included with the Unlimited Plus subscription. They are not available with Unlimited Webinars or Unlimited Self-Study.

How many CPE credits do I earn for the full CFO Series?

Each course in the CFO Series is worth 2 CPE credits, for a total of 10 CPE credits across all five courses. You may take the courses in any order — there is no required sequence.

What format are the CFO Series courses? Can I take them on-demand?

All five CFO Series courses are currently offered exclusively as live webinars. There is no on-demand or self-study version available at this time. You must register for a specific date and time to attend.

Multiple sessions are scheduled throughout the year for each course. Registration closes one hour before each live session begins. Unlimited Plus subscribers can register for any available session at no additional cost.

Who is Cory Ng and why is he qualified to teach these courses?

Do I need to take the courses in a specific order?

There is no required sequence. Each course stands on its own. That said, professionals newer to the CFO track often start with BLP2 (The CFO Blueprint) before moving into the more specialized risk, strategy, technology, and people topics covered in the other four courses.
